Mental Health First Aid

1 in 4 people in the UK are likely to experience mental health problems each year. Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet whilst we know how to take care of our own physical health, many do not know how to support colleagues, friends and relatives.

Mental health conditions are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination and research has shown that a culture of fear and silence around mental health is costly to employers.

This course covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace. This qualification provides delegates with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for all workplaces and industries. A nominated person(s) could attend as part of workplace welfare or for those that would like to raise their awareness of mental health, develop and understand how to support, reassure fellow colleagues to professional support.

What you will learn?

Delegates will NOT diagnose or treat mental health conditions as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals.
